Historic research, outreach and walking tours

Technology enables my documentation of contemporary queer family to be endless into the future while the blood sweat and tears of my queer ancestors provides equally endless avenues of inquiry and learning into the past. These two practices, photography and research, exist in tandem, informing and challenging one another ad infinitum. Our histories remind me that nothing we are doing is new and in order to move forward into a healthy and inclusive future, we have to listen to and learn from those who came before us. While I will never hesitate to criticize spaces that do not provide safety and inclusion to the entire LGBTQIA spectrum, my historical research and walking tours are love letters to the folks who built those spaces so that I might have the luxury of asking for more. Thank You.
